Thermal Strip Thermocycler

View page
US Patent:
7179639, Feb 20, 2007
Filed:
Mar 5, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/382755
Inventors:
Raveendran Pottathil - San Diego CA, US
Jerome Anton Streifel - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
C12M 1/34
US Classification:
4352872, 4353031, 435 6, 4352861, 436515, 436516
Abstract:
This is a self-contained disposable thermal cycler device in which target sequence is amplified as the samples passes over a grid of alternating temperature and then at the completion of the reaction, the amplified material is captured by probes complementary to the targeted sequence. Since the device can be sealed and is disposable, it reduces the occurrence of cross contamination or specimen carry-over.

Enzymatic Labeling And Detection Of Dna Hybridization Probes

View page
US Patent:
20020031776, Mar 14, 2002
Filed:
Jul 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/917138
Inventors:
Richard Tullis - Encinadas CA, US
Jerome Streifel - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
C12Q001/68
C12P019/34
US Classification:
435/006000, 435/091200
Abstract:
Methods and markers for identifying and detecting nucleic acids using a linear amplification scheme are provided. The methods use chain extending enzymes, such as telomerases, to label probes hybridized to target nucleic acid products, including amplification products, to render them readily detectable. The methods may be performed as homogeneous or heterogeneous reactions. The methods provided herein can be used with any known method involving detection of a hybridized probe.

Prodrug Compounds For Dermal Application

View page
US Patent:
45885257, May 13, 1986
Filed:
Feb 27, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/584113
Inventors:
Lyle J. Arnold - San Diego CA
Jerome A. Streifel - San Diego CA
Assignee:
Molecular Biosystems, Inc. - San Diego CA
International Classification:
C07J 500
US Classification:
2603974
Abstract:
Prodrug compounds for dermal application of topical medicaments, such as 6-aminonicotinamide for treatment of psoriasis, are linked by an enzyme cleavable group to a carrier side chain, such as succinyl piperidate or morpholidate. The neutral lipophilic compounds are rapidly absorbed into the epithelial cells where they are enzymatically cleaved to release the active drug in an ionic form which is retained within the cells.
