Writing And Reading User Data Using Servo Spirals

View page
US Patent:
8223452, Jul 17, 2012
Filed:
Sep 11, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/557590
Inventors:
Jerome F. Richgels - Sunnyvale CA, US
Henri Sutioso - Saratoga CA, US
Allen Cheng Wu Hu - Fremont CA, US
Scott A. Hughes - Cupertino CA, US
Assignee:
Marvell International Ltd. - Hamilton
International Classification:
G11B 21/02
US Classification:
360 75, 360 48, 360 51, 360 7702, 360 7707
Abstract:
A system includes a self-servo-write (SSW) module, a read module, and a write module. The SSW module writes servo spirals on a magnetic medium of a hard disk drive (HDD) via a write head of the HDD. The read module reads the servo spirals via a read head of the HDD and generates read signals. The write module writes non-servo data on the magnetic medium via the write head based on the read signals before the SSW module writes servo wedges on the magnetic medium.

Method For Creating And Using Design Shells For Integrated Circuit Designs

View page
US Patent:
58448187, Dec 1, 1998
Filed:
May 10, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/627823
Inventors:
Dan Kochpatcharin - Union City CA
Zarir B. Sarkari - San Jose CA
Christian Joly - Palo Alto CA
Allen Wu - Milpitas CA
Assignee:
LSI Logic Corporation - Milpitas CA
International Classification:
G06F 9455
US Classification:
364578
Abstract:
A method for creating a shell to represent a functional block of an IC design comprising of a plurality of interconnected functional blocks. The critical information from a synthesized gate level block is retained in the shell such that when analyzing the static characteristics of another block connected to the block now represented by the shell the analysis is still accurate. At a hierarchial level the present invention provides a method for analyzing the functional blocks of an IC design such that the memory requirement for storing the information of the functional blocks of the IC design is reduced as well as a decrease in run time.

Timing Shell Generation Through Netlist Reduction

View page
US Patent:
56444982, Jul 1, 1997
Filed:
Jan 25, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/377844
Inventors:
Christian Joly - Palo Alto CA
Francois Ducaroir - San Francisco CA
Zarir Sarkari - San Jose CA
Allen Wu - San Jose CA
Assignee:
LSI Logic Corporation - Milpitas CA
International Classification:
G06F 1500
US Classification:
364489
Abstract:
Gate level netlists used for timing analysis in integrated circuit design are reduced using a timing shell generator while preserving critical information for timing analysis. After verification of timings, the gate level netlist is convened into a shell containing block boundary information. The function of the shell generator is to delete internal cells meeting a set of criteria. The result is a shell netlist containing a subset of the original netlist. Thus, the design cycle time involved and computing time and resources needed in ASIC development for chips using circuits represented by timing shell netlists are decreased by substituting design verification at the top level of large hierarchical netlists or large flat netlists by bottom up verification procedures using timing shells.

Autonomous Path Planning

US Patent:
20220189325, Jun 16, 2022
Filed:
Mar 7, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/687981
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US
Marc Alain Lecerf - San Mateo CA, US
Evan Michael Wilson - San Francisco CA, US
Allen David Wu - Dublin CA, US
Anne-Claire Le Bihan - San Mateo CA, US
Assignee:
Xwing, Inc. - San Francisco CA
International Classification:
G08G 5/02
G01C 21/20
G08G 5/00
G05D 1/10
G05D 1/00
G06N 5/00
Abstract:
A method includes selecting a landing waypoint on a runway and selecting a starting waypoint based on a location/heading of an aircraft relative to the runway. The method includes selecting additional waypoints between the starting waypoint and the landing waypoint. The starting and additional waypoints include latitude, longitude, and altitude variables. A sequence of waypoints from the starting waypoint to the landing waypoint via the additional waypoints indicates a desired location for the aircraft to traverse. The method includes generating location constraints for the starting and additional waypoints and generating an objective function for optimizing at least one of the variables. Additionally, the method includes generating a solution for the objective function subject to the location constraints. The solution includes latitude, longitude, and altitude values for the variables. The method further includes controlling the aircraft to traverse the starting and additional waypoints according to the latitude, longitude, and altitude values.
