US Classification:
435 6, 435 911, 435 912, 536 231, 536 243
Abstract:
Gene probes for specific regions of chromosome 3 (3p21. 3) and chromosome 10 (10q22) have been found to be tools for the diagnosis and prognosis of smoking related cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). For example, these probes can be used with fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and used to stratify smokers into high and low risk groups, as well as determine a patients susceptibility to the development of smoking related cancers.

In-Situ Genomic Dna Chip For Detection Of Cancer

View page
US Patent:
20070178503, Aug 2, 2007
Filed:
Dec 19, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/641008
Inventors:
Feng Jiang - Ellicott City MD, US
International Classification:
C12Q 1/68
C12M 1/34
US Classification:
435006000, 435287200
Abstract:
An in situ genomic DNA chip can be used directly on clinical specimens in situ for detecting, diagnosing and/or predicting diseases, especially diseases characterized by a genetic aberration such as cancers, by simultaneous detection of one or more unique genetic aberrations using one or more multiple specific probes. The present invention offers high sensitivity for detection of such genetic aberrations and, further, has substantial implications for large-scale population-based molecular epidemiologic studies and therapeutic interventions.

Detection And Diagnosis Of Smoking Related Cancers

US Patent:
20070218480, Sep 20, 2007
Filed:
Jan 25, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/627253
Inventors:
Ruth Katz - Houston TX, US
Feng Jiang - Ellicott City MD, US
International Classification:
C12Q 1/68
US Classification:
435006000
Abstract:
Gene probes for specific regions of chromosomes 1, 3, 9, 10 and 17 are now shown to be useful in the diagnosis and prognosis of smoking related cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). For example, these probes can be used with fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and used to stratify smokers into high and low risk groups, to determine susceptibility to the development of smoking related cancers, to predict cancer progression and treatment efficacy, and to rule out other diseases.

Automatic Perspective Correction For In-Flight Entertainment (Ife) Monitors

View page
US Patent:
20210150740, May 20, 2021
Filed:
Nov 14, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/684540
Inventors:
- Lake Forest CA, US
Feng Jiang - Irvine CA, US
International Classification:
G06T 7/536
B64D 11/00
G02B 27/00
F16M 11/12
G06F 17/13
Abstract:
Disclosed embodiments are directed at devices, methods, and systems for fixing distortions of content displayed on in-flight entertainment (IFE) monitors in a commercial passenger vehicle. An IFE monitor can receive angular measurement data from one or more gyroscope sensors to determine a differential angle of tilt of the IFE monitor. In response to determining that the differential angle of tilt is non-zero, the IFE monitor can detect that content displayed on the IFE monitor is subject to distortion. The IFE monitor can automatically apply a perspective correction to the content displayed on the IFE monitor for fixing the perceived distortion.

Methods Of Detecting Lung Cancer

View page
US Patent:
20210108269, Apr 15, 2021
Filed:
Apr 5, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/603061
Inventors:
- BALTIMORE MD, US
- WASHINGTON DC, US
Feng Jiang - Ellicott City MD, US
International Classification:
C12Q 1/6886
C12Q 1/686
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of predicting whether a pulmonary nodule in a subject is benign or non-small cell lung cancer, comprising obtaining the results of an assay that measures an expression level of miR205-5p in a plasma sample from the subject; obtaining the results of an assay that measures an expression level of miR126 in a plasma sample from the subject; obtaining the results of an assay that provides a size of the pulmonary nodule in the subject; and calculating a probability value based on the combination of the expression levels of miR205-5p and miR126, and the size of the pulmonary nodule, wherein if the probability value exceeds a specified threshold, the pulmonary nodule is predicted as non-small cell lung cancer.

Reconfigurable Modular In-Vehicle Entertainment Monitor Systems

View page
US Patent:
20210070450, Mar 11, 2021
Filed:
Sep 5, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/562335
Inventors:
- Lake Forest CA, US
Feng Jiang - Irvine CA, US
Gary Chen - Rancho Santa Margarita CA, US
Vic Wu - Irvine CA, US
Xinyu Li - Irvine CA, US
International Classification:
B64D 11/06
B64D 11/00
B60N 3/00
Abstract:
In-vehicle entertainment (WE) monitor systems can be reconfigurable and modular to improve heat dissipation characteristics and to enable separate removal or installation of one or more parts within the WE monitor system without affecting the rest of the IVE monitor system. A modular system for providing in-vehicle entertainment to passengers on a commercial passenger vehicle includes a main housing, a peripheral housing, and a display panel that are separately removable or installable. A main printed circuit board (PCB) in the main housing is electrically connected to a secondary PCB in the peripheral housing via the first data cable and the secondary PCB is electrically connected to the display panel via the second data cable in a series configuration.
