Techniques And Apparatuses For Using Mini-Slots For Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (Harq) Transmissions

View page
US Patent:
20200374090, Nov 26, 2020
Filed:
Aug 14, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/947751
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Chong LI - Weehawken NJ, US
Wanshi CHEN - San Diego CA, US
Jing JIANG - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 5/00
H04L 1/08
H04L 1/18
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive, from a base station, an indicator associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process, wherein the indicator indicates a number of mini-slots to be bundled for a HARQ transmission of the HARQ process; and decode the HARQ transmission based at least in part on the mini-slots. In some aspects, a base station may transmit an indicator, associated with a HARQ process, to a user equipment, wherein the indicator indicates a number of mini-slots to be bundled for a HARQ transmission of the HARQ process; and transmit the HARQ transmission to the user equipment using the mini-slots. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Tti Bundling For Urllc Ul/Dl Transmissions

US Patent:
20200037319, Jan 30, 2020
Filed:
Oct 4, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/593800
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Chong Li - Weehawken NJ, US
Jing Jiang - San Diego CA, US
Wanshi Chen - San Diego CA, US
Hao Xu - Beijing, CN
Haitong Sun - Cupertino CA, US
International Classification:
H04W 72/04
H04L 1/18
H04B 7/14
H04L 5/00
H04L 25/02
H04L 27/26
H04L 12/26
Abstract:
Transmission time interval (TTI) bundling for ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) uplink and downlink transmissions is discussed in which a base station or user equipments (UEs) determine conditions for one or more served UEs that would indicate enabling TTI bundling for data and/or control transmissions. The serving base station transmits an enablement signal signifying that TTI bundling will be performed for data and/or control transmissions. The enablement signal may include a bundle length for the transmission bundle. The data or control signal packets may then be repeatedly transmitted to the UEs a number of times corresponding to the bundle length.

Schemes For Recovery Of Embb's Rs Puncturing From Dynamic Multiplexing Of Urllc/Embb

View page
US Patent:
20200007302, Jan 2, 2020
Filed:
Mar 29, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/488150
Inventors:
Chong LI - Weehawken NJ, US
Jing JIANG - San Diego CA, US
Yu ZHANG - San Diego CA, US
Joseph Binamira SORIAGA - San Diego CA, US
Wanshi CHEN - San Diego CA, US
Tingfang JI - San Diego CA, US
- San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
H04L 5/02
H04L 5/00
Abstract:
Various aspects are described for schemes that address the potential puncturing of important reference signals (RSs) for enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) applications, such as demodulation reference signal (DMRS), channel state information reference signal (CSIRS), tracking reference signal, and general reference signal. The schemes can be used for recovery of eMBB's RS puncturing from dynamic multiplexing of ultra-reliable-low-latency communications (URLLC) and eMBB. The schemes include a block-based scheme and an over-provisioning scheme. The schemes modify an existing RS pattern before puncturing occurs in response to a presence of the URLLC traffic. In addition, there can be an option not to use (e.g., disable) time-domain orthogonal cover code (TD-OCC) for the RSs.

Indication Channel Techniques For Low Latency Wireless Communications

View page
US Patent:
20180249486, Aug 30, 2018
Filed:
Feb 1, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/886416
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Chong Li - Weehawken NJ, US
Jing Jiang - San Diego CA, US
Alexandros Manolakos - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
H04W 72/12
H04W 72/04
H04W 28/06
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for establishing periodic resources that may be used for low latency communications. An indication channel may be provided that may indicate that one or more higher latency transmissions may be punctured with low latency communications that are transmitted outside of the periodic resources. In some cases, the indication channel may be transmitted only in subsets of time resources, such as mini-slots of time resources within a slot, and a user equipment (UE) may monitor the indication channel to determine that a transmission is punctured. The UE may not monitor the indication channel in the periodic resources, and may thus conserve power compared to monitoring the indication channel in all time resources.

Puncture Recovery And Resource Reclaiming For Multi-Priority Scheduling

View page
US Patent:
20180115964, Apr 26, 2018
Filed:
Oct 19, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/788740
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Hao Xu - Beijing, CN
Chong Li - Weehawken NJ, US
Chih-Ping Li - San Diego CA, US
Jing Jiang - San Diego CA, US
Tingfang Ji - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
H04W 72/04
H04W 72/12
Abstract:
Various techniques provide for identifying and transmitting a first transmission to a UE in a first transmission time interval (TTI), and puncturing a portion of the first transmission with a higher priority second transmission that has a shorter TTI than the first TTI. The punctured portion of the first transmission may then be transmitted in a subsequent portion of the first TTI, concurrently with an originally allocated portion of the first transmission for that subsequent portion of the TTI. A UE may identify the punctured portion of the first transmission, and identify that the punctured portion of the first transmission is being transmitted in the subsequent portion of the first TTI. The UE may decode the received transmissions and merge the punctured portion with other, non-punctured, portions of the first transmission.

Dec 2, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/368425
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Chong Li - Jersey City NJ, US
Joseph Binamira Soriaga - San Diego CA, US
Tingfang Ji - San Diego CA, US
Shailesh Patil - Raritan NJ, US
Jing Jiang - San Diego CA, US

Alexei Gorokhov - San Diego CA, US
Junyi Li - Chester NJ, US
International Classification:
H04W 72/14
H04W 72/12
H04W 76/02
Abstract:
An apparatus may receive, from a scheduling entity, sidelink grant information in a downlink control channel. After receiving the grant information in the downlink control channel, the apparatus may transmit a request-to-send (RTS) signal comprising an indication of a requested duration of time to reserve a sidelink channel for sidelink data. If the sidelink channel is available for the requested duration of time, the apparatus may receive a clear-to-send (CTS) signal configured to indicate an availability of the sidelink channel for the requested duration of time. Subsequently, the apparatus may communicate, with another apparatus different from the scheduling entity, the sidelink data using the sidelink channel during the requested duration of time. Afterwards, the apparatus may communicate acknowledgment information corresponding to the communication of the sidelink signal with the other apparatus. Various additional and alternative aspects are described herein.
