Amplified Fishing Rod Handle

View page
US Patent:
20040231223, Nov 25, 2004
Filed:
Mar 25, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/808773
Inventors:
Steven Vogts - West Bend WI, US
Assignee:
Frabill, Inc. - Jackson WI
International Classification:
A01K075/02
US Classification:
043/023000
Abstract:
A hollow tubular handle houses the proximal end of a fishing rod blank. A plurality of vibration disks are disposed about the proximal end of the rod blank and encircle the blank. Each disk is a substantially flat planar member having a centrally located aperture defined in it for centering the disk on the blank. Each disk may have a plurality of prong-like members extending outwardly from the central portion of the disk. The outermost portion of each prong-like member is urged and seats against the inner surface of the tubular handle. Use of such disks results in an effective transmission of the vibrations that propagate through the rod blank to the angler's hand. The use of a thin-walled tubular handle member serves as a resonating chamber to further amplify the transmitted vibrations and further increase sensitivity of the rod handle.

Portable Shelter

View page
US Patent:
20060081281, Apr 20, 2006
Filed:
Oct 18, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/253105
Inventors:
Timothy Makos - Brookfield WI, US
Ryan Kleckner - Grafton WI, US
Steven Vogts - West Bend WI, US
International Classification:
E04H 15/48
E04H 15/56
US Classification:
135098000, 135148000, 135116000, 280762000
Abstract:
A portable shelter is attachable to a receiver hitch of a vehicle. The portable shelter enables the user to use the base of the shelter as a cargo rack when the shelter is not being used as such. The cargo rack is used as the sub-base to the shelter. On top of the sub-base is a removable thermoformed plastic base having tent framing and one or more seats removably attached to it. Support legs are also provided at the sub-base. Each of the support legs is rotatable from the sub-base to ensure stability of the shelter and allow the shelter to stand by itself and without attachment to the vehicle. A framework is provided with telescoping members to allow the full frame of the shelter to be enclosed with a tent or other like covering, the covering intended to be a barrier against the elements.
