Abstract:
An environment perception system for perceiving an environment about a vehicle having an autonomous drive system. The environment perception system includes a first camera that captures first images of the environment. A first camera controller generates first image data based on first images captured by the first camera. A second camera captures second images of the environment. A second camera controller generates second image data based on second images captured by the second camera. A ranging scanner measures distances between the vehicle and objects within the environment. A ranging controller generates ranging data based on the distances measured by the ranging scanner. A fusion controller generates three-dimensional data representative of the environment based on the first image data, the second image data, and the ranging data.

Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an auto-braking system which includes a braking device, a receiver, and a controller. The controller includes a determining portion, a verifying portion and an executing portion. The determining portion determines whether a vehicle will violate a red signal of the traffic light based on the traffic light state information. The verifying portion verifies the traffic light state information is valid by comparing the traffic light state information with the image of the traffic light captured by the sensor. The executing portion executes a first braking control to slow the vehicle at a first deceleration rate when the determining portion determines that the vehicle will violate a red signal. The executing portion executes a second braking control to slow the vehicle at a second deceleration rate to stop at a specified position when the verifying portion verifies that the traffic light state information is valid.

Abstract:
A system and method are provided and include a subject vehicle having a sensor that senses information about an environment of the subject vehicle. An actuator rotates the sensor according to a commanded angle. A controller determines a position and a trajectory path of the subject vehicle, determines an adaptive point along the determined trajectory path based on the position, and generates the commanded angle for the actuator to rotate the sensor towards the adaptive point.
