Filed:
Apr 8, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/366659
Inventors:
Chang V. Chi - Brookfield CT
Assignee:
Energy Research Corporation - Danbury CT
International Classification:
H01M 804
US Classification:
429 26
Abstract:
Electrical conductive means is used to connect first and second cooling assemblies of a fuel cell stack to thereby establish a short circuit path which bypasses the fuel cells situated between these cooling assemblies.

Fuel Cell Cooling Assembly

US Patent:
44891423, Dec 18, 1984
Filed:
Nov 17, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/552017
Inventors:
Chang V. Chi - Brookfield CT
Bernard S. Baker - Brookfield Center CT
Assignee:
Energy Research Corporation - Danbury CT
International Classification:
H01M 824
US Classification:
429 26
Abstract:
A gas cooling assembly for a fuel cell wherein a first carbonized plate includes opposing first and second surfaces, one of which having a plurality of grooves for carrying a cooling gas and a second carbonized plate includes first and second opposing surfaces, one of which is flat and abuts the grooves in said one surface of the first plate and the other of which has a plurality of grooves for carrying process gas.

Method Of Making An Integral Carbonized Cooler Assembly

View page
US Patent:
44566450, Jun 26, 1984
Filed:
Oct 22, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/313807

Chang V. Chi - Brookfield CT
Assignee:
Energy Research Corporation - Danbury CT
International Classification:
B32B 300
B32B 3126
US Classification:
428166
Abstract:
A practice for gas cooler assembly fabrication wherein a first plate comprised of carbonizable material is provided in first regions with a conductive first material and in second bordering regions with an adhesive material and the first plate and a second plate comprised of carbonizable material are brought into adjacent relationship and carbonized by heating to thereby form the completed assembly.

Fuel Cell Sub-Assembly

View page
US Patent:
44169558, Nov 22, 1983
Filed:
Jan 11, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/338354

Chang V. Chi - Brookfield CT
Assignee:
Energy Research Corporation - Danbury CT
International Classification:
H01M 802
US Classification:
429 26
Abstract:
A fuel cell sub-assembly comprising a plurality of fuel cells, a first section of a cooling means disposed at an end of the assembly and means for connecting the fuel cells and first section together to form a unitary structure.

Forming And Crystallization Process For Molecular Sieve Manufacture

View page
US Patent:
40585867, Nov 15, 1977
Filed:
Feb 25, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/661457
Inventors:
Chang Whan Chi - Columbia MD
Gordon Herman Hoffman - Baltimore MD
Emil Eichhorn - Timonium MD
Assignee:
W. R. Grace & Co. - New York NY
International Classification:
C01B 3328
US Classification:
423118
Abstract:
A method of preparing zeolitic aluminosilicates particularly those zeolitic aluminosilicates that are characterized by pores in the 4 and 10A sizes that are designated Zeolites A and X by the Linde Division of Union Carbide Corporation in which compacts of the Zeolites A and X, metakaolin, clay mixture undergo crystallization at a temperature of 200. degree. to 700. degree. F. The crystallization is carried out in a calciner or other type of drying equipment. Normally the formed particles furnish all of the liquid needed for crystallization. If desired, however, additional steam may be added during the crystallization process.

Zeolite Catalyst For Dilute Acid Gas Treatment Via Claus Reaction

View page
US Patent:
39535878, Apr 27, 1976
Filed:
Nov 27, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/527620
Inventors:
Hanju Lee - Columbia MD
Chang Whan Chi - Columbia MD
Assignee:
W. R. Grace & Co. - Columbia MD
International Classification:
C01B 1704
US Classification:
423576
Abstract:
Certain zeolite materials have been found to be effective zeolite adsorbents-catalysts for the adsorption and conversion of sulfuric compounds to elemental sulfur. These zeolites adsorb hydrogen sulfide and sulfur oxides and promote the reaction of these materials so as to produce sulfur. These useful zeolites are the hydrogen forms of the zeolite materials and sodium exchanged hydrogen zeolites, especially mordenite. These zeolite adsorbents-catalysts are very useful for the removal of small amounts of hydrogen sulfide and sulfurous oxide from effluent streams such as effluent streams from Claus reactors.
