Method For Restoring Diversely Routed Circuits

View page
US Patent:
7012887, Mar 14, 2006
Filed:
May 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/851555
Inventors:
Jack Zhu - Westford MA, US
Alok Kishore Bhargava - Burlington MA, US
Ray Alexander Balogh - North Andover MA, US
Assignee:
Sycamore Networks, Inc. - Chelmsford MA
International Classification:
H04L 12/28
H04J 1/16
G06F 11/00
G08C 15/00
G01R 31/08
US Classification:
370216, 370224, 370389
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for restoring a diversely routed circuit in a timely manner from an initial path failure includes the steps of receiving one or more triggers at one of a destination node and a source node of a first path. The trigger indicates a path failure. The method continues by switching from the first path to a functional second path. The trigger prompts, at least partially, the switching step, and restores the circuit to a functional mode.

Method Of Fast Circuit Recovery Using Local Restoration

US Patent:
20030043427, Mar 6, 2003
Filed:
Aug 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/943661
Inventors:
Marc Robidas - Chelmsford MA, US
Ray Balogh - North Andover MA, US
Alok Bhargava - Burlington MA, US
Arvind Puntambekar - Westford MA, US
International Classification:
H04B010/08
H04B010/20
H04J014/00
US Classification:
359/110000, 359/118000
Abstract:
A communication network and method is presented that performs line level restoration when an indication of a trunk failure is received. When a trunk failure occurs, the optical cross connect switch detecting the failure signals upstream to a peer optical cross connect switch of the failure occurrence. The optical cross connect switch having the higher router ID performs an alternative trunk query and if an alternative trunk is located, the two nodes located at each end of the failed trunk migrate the eligible label switched paths onto the new trunk.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for managing digital identities. In some embodiments, a method is provided, comprising acts of: receiving a request to validate at least one statement about a user; identifying, from the request, a reference to a distributed ledger, the reference comprising an identifier for the distributed ledger and an identifier for a transaction recorded on the distributed ledger; identifying, based at least in part on the identifier for the distributed ledger, at least one node of a network of nodes managing the distributed ledger; and communicating with the at least one node to validate the at least one statement about the user
