Collapsible Hunting Blind

View page
US Patent:
8365749, Feb 5, 2013
Filed:
Jul 20, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/840068
Inventors:
Anthony D. Overbaugh - Winchester VA, US
International Classification:
E04H 15/04
E04H 15/40
E04H 15/44
US Classification:
135 90, 135125, 135136, 135901, 135906
Abstract:
A hunting blind is made of lightweight material allowing the hunting blind to be collapsed and folded or rolled into a compact configuration. The compact configuration allows the easy storage and transportation of the hunting blind. The hunting blind may easily be carried by one person to any desired location and temporarily set up. In this manner, the hunter can place the blind anywhere, rather than building a blind of more permanent material, such as wood, but then being restricted to the one location where the blind is built. Cords attached to two sides of the blind create tension in the blind, causing flexible rods at the top of the side to bend into an arcuate shape. The rods then create an arched roof, providing increased head room in the blind and preventing accumulation of debris and rain water on the roof.

Tree Stand

US Patent:
6715585, Apr 6, 2004
Filed:
Sep 12, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/949643
Inventors:
Anthony D. Overbaugh - Winchester VA, 22602
International Classification:
A63B 2700
US Classification:
182187, 182133, 182136, 182188
Abstract:
A tree stand has a platform and seat portion that are used together. The two portions are very similar and differ in that the platform has a grid on which a hunter can stand, and the seat portion has a sling in which the hunter can sit. Both portions have a frame with an upstanding post. A cable extends from one side of the frame across to the opposite side of the post and circles a tree, crosses the other side of the post and is attached to the opposite side of the frame. This results in a criss-crossed line that both securely attaches each portion to the tree and is easy to set up by a single hunter.

Treestand With Cable Retention System

View page
US Patent:
20200383314, Dec 10, 2020
Filed:
Mar 2, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/806563
Inventors:
Anthony D. Overbaugh - Winchester VA, US
International Classification:
A01M 31/02
Abstract:
A treestand has a ladder and platform. A grip formed on an edge of the platform contacts a tree and a first end of a retention strap is fixedly attached to one side of the platform. A pull rope attaches to a second end of the retention cable and pulls the retention cable through a first guide and a second guide so that the send end of the retention cable can be secured, such as to the ladder. The first guide and second guide ensure that the retention cable is in position to secure the platform to the tree and the tension on the retention cable maintains the retention cable in place.

US Patent:
20200383315, Dec 10, 2020
Filed:
Mar 2, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/806579
Inventors:
Anthony D. Overbaugh - Winchester VA, US
International Classification:
A01M 31/02
Abstract:
A treestand having a ladder and platform at the top of the ladder is provided with gripping jaws under the platform. The pair of jaws are connected to one another by a first strap. A second strap connected to the first strap at a point between the pair of jaws. The second strap passed through at least one guide and extends downward to be accessible to a person at ground level. When the second strap is pulled downward, the first strap moves toward a rear edge of the platform, causing the jaws to pivot from a first open position to a second closed position.

US Patent:
20140182969, Jul 3, 2014
Filed:
Jan 3, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/147335
Inventors:
Anthony D OVERBAUGH - Winchester VA, US
International Classification:
A01M 31/02
A01M 31/00
US Classification:
182116, 182194, 182187, 182129
Abstract:
A platform is provided with a ladder to allow the user to easily ascend to the platform. A pair of stabilizing arms and jaws provides lateral stability to the ladder. A climbing stick has a pair of vertical posts attached between the front and rear walls of steps to provide a secure connection. The upper and lower ends extend inwardly and away from each other to provide a gripping surface. A tree stand has a male adapter with a bracket for securing a strap. The strap is used to secure the male adapter in place. Once secured to the tree, the platform area can be attached to the male adapter using a female adapter. The ability to first secure the smaller, lighter bracket and male adapter to a tree before attaching the platform using a female adapter increases the ease in securing the tree stand to a tree.
