Motion Detecting Safety Device

View page
US Patent:
6775940, Aug 17, 2004
Filed:
Feb 14, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/369088
Inventors:
William S. Dworzan - Santa Ana CA
Lawrence J. Zadra - Laguna Hills CA
Assignee:
S/R Industries, Inc. - Huntington Beach CA
International Classification:
F41A 953
US Classification:
42 101, 42 54, 42 7001, 42106
Abstract:
A safety device for use with a toy guns, less-lethal guns (such as non-powdered guns) and lethal guns detects motion of the gun, and causes light emitting diodes or other light sources incorporated into the gun to prominently flash. The flashing light sources alert bystanders in a way that distinguishes lethal firearms from toy guns and less-lethal guns. The flashing diodes can also be activated when the gun is armed, cocked or otherwise ready to be fired. Motion is detected through the use of an electric circuit that includes a spring, an oscillating mass, and a ring adapted to surround the oscillating mass.

Handheld Gyroscopic Exercise Device

View page
US Patent:
7326156, Feb 5, 2008
Filed:
Oct 24, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/693338
Inventors:
William S. Dworzan - Santa Ana CA, US
International Classification:
A63B 21/22
A63B 23/14
US Classification:
482110, 482 44
Abstract:
A gyroscopic exercise device has a pair of handles attached to a housing. A user holds and rotates the handles along a cone-like path causing precession of a rotor, which is rotating about its spin axis, to provide resistance to the user. The device has a ring guide that holds ends of a shaft, which is coupled to the rotor. The periphery of the ring guide and the ends of the shaft are within a circular race defined by the housing. A motor attached to the ring guide drives a wheel that rotates the rotor about a spin axis by using energy provided by batteries in one of the handles. The energy passes through a conducting conduit that rotates about the precession axis. The ring guide, motor, and rotor can rotate together during precession of the rotor.

Toothbrush With Tuned Vibrating Head

US Patent:
7409741, Aug 12, 2008
Filed:
Jun 24, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/603902
Inventors:
William S. Dworzan - Santa Ana CA, US
International Classification:
A61C 17/00
A46B 13/02
US Classification:
15 221, 433122
Abstract:
A toothbrush provides a head with bristles, a neck and a handle. An eccentrically rotational weight is engaged for rotation with a motor, the weight disposed within the head. The motor is disposed within the handle. The head and neck are integrally formed with a natural resonance frequency of vibration approximately equal to the rotational speed of the motor and synchronized therewith.

Side Mount Garage Door Operator

View page
US Patent:
52223272, Jun 29, 1993
Filed:
Jul 22, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/733638
Inventors:
Donna M. Fellows - Martinez CA
William S. Dworzan - Orange CA
International Classification:
E05F 1500
US Classification:
49139
Abstract:
A side mount garage door operator capable of being positioned on either the ceiling or end wall of a garage at either side of the garage door on a frame unit, the operator providing a clutch for disengaging the drive motor from the garage door in the absence of electric power and having a manual graspable handle operated by a solenoid when power is present and operable manually in the absence of power. Novel limit means having limits which is on the end of an axially movable bar which is moved by a follower riding in a spiral groove in the base of a disk such as a gear connected to the drive shaft.
