Method And System For Providing A Work-At-Home Telecommunication Service

View page
US Patent:
5768357, Jun 16, 1998
Filed:
Sep 30, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/723853
Inventors:
Carol S. Gruchala - Naperville IL
John P Morriso - Lake Zurich IL
Assignee:
Ameritech Services, Inc. - Hoffman Estates IL
International Classification:
H04M 342
US Classification:
379207
Abstract:
A work-at-home telecommunication service is provided in code and a dialed number to initiate a call. The call is suspended and a query is sent to a service control point after receiving the vertical feature code and the dialed number. The query includes the dialed number and a calling party identification number. A response to the query is formed using the service control point by translating the dialed number to a called party identification number, and by modifying the calling party identification number to an identification number of a group associated with the calling party. The response includes the called party identification number, the calling party identification number, and a carrier identification code which identifies a telecommunication carrier for the group associated with the calling party. The call is routed to the called party using the telecommunication carrier identified by the carrier identification code. A distinctive ring can be provided at the called party to indicate that the call is associated with the work-at-home telecommunication service.

System And Method For Generating Call Records Based On Account Codes

View page
US Patent:
6792089, Sep 14, 2004
Filed:
Nov 14, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/987224
Inventors:
Dianna Inara Tiliks - Elk Grove IL
Carol Shifrin Gruchala - Naperville IL
Susanne Marie Crockett - Buffalo Grove IL
John Wesley Moss - Lake Zurich IL
Nancy Ann Book - Naperville IL
William M Moy - Wheeling IL
Assignee:
SBC Properties, L.P. - Austin TX
International Classification:
H04M 1500
US Classification:
379126, 37912101, 37911428
Abstract:
However, the current call detail record system has certain drawbacks. For example, specific billing information is ordinarily tracked and available for calls made from one local access and transport area (LATA) to another (i. e. , interLATA or long distance calls). Billing and usage information for calls within the same LATA (i. e. , intraLATA or local calls), including local toll calls, are not maintained by the network or otherwise accessible to the network provider and customers. Therefore, the customers are not able to track intraLATA calls in the same manner as interLATA calls. For example, customers may desire identifying codes to be entered next to each charged call in order to facilitate subsequent billing of the customers respective clients.

View page
US Patent:
6807267, Oct 19, 2004
Filed:
Dec 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/036950
Inventors:
John Wesley Moss - Lake Zurich IL
Dianna Inara Tiliks - Elk Grove IL
Susanne Marie Crockett - Buffalo Grove IL
Carol Shifrin Gruchala - Naperville IL
Nancy Ann Book - Naperville IL
Assignee:
SBC Properties, LP - Reno NV
International Classification:
H04M 342
US Classification:
37920715, 37920713

US Patent:
6813346, Nov 2, 2004
Filed:
Aug 10, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/132164
Inventors:
Carol Shifrin Gruchala - Naperville IL
Donald W Buell - Naperville IL
Rodney T Brand - Lisle IL
Ronald Michael Bloom - Blue Island IL
Robert Anthony Michalski - Algonquin IL
Assignee:

International Classification:
H04M 342
US Classification:
37921101, 37920101, 37920712, 37922108
Abstract:
A method and system are provided for selecting a destination number upon receiving a dialed number from a calling party. The preferred embodiments include a telecommunications system that, after receiving a dialed number from a calling party, selects a particular destination number and routes the call to that number. In one preferred embodiment, information about the calling partys end office, such as an originating point code, is used to select a destination number. In another preferred embodiment, destination numbers are stored in a plurality of database locations in the system, and the zip code of the calling party is used to select the appropriate database to query for the destination number. Since the database location selection is independent of the dialed number, the systemânot the number dialed by the calling partyâdetermines the appropriate database location to query. These preferred embodiments can be used in a variety of situations and find particular use in a non-emergency service environment.
