Automatic Polishing Device

View page
US Patent:
56806663, Oct 28, 1997
Filed:
Oct 15, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/730067
Inventors:
Dojin Ra - Palisades Park NJ
International Classification:
A47L 2305
A47L 2306
US Classification:
15 972
Abstract:
An automatic shoe polisher includes a casing having an internal chamber for a rechargeable battery and a liquid cartridge. A pair of doors provide for access to the battery and liquid cartridge. The door for the liquid cartridge is provided with a protrusion or biasing element to maintain the position of the liquid cartridge in the casing. A motor assembly is connected to a pinion which coacts with a shaft assembly to drive the cleaning/polishing element which is mounted to the shaft by a universal coupling. The coupling permits the polishing element to be pivoted about the shaft. A spring is arranged around the shaft to bias the shaft. A valve with an inlet is arranged on the shaft to move into the chamber so that the polishing fluid is directed through the shaft to the polishing element. The apparatus can be automatically actuated upon contact of the polishing head against the surface to be polished, such as a shoe, with the speed being variable depending upon the amount of pressure exerted on the polishing head. When pressure is removed from the polishing head, the valve is displaced so that the fluid in the chamber is retained in the chamber and the rotational speed of the shaft slows.

Device And Method For Diffusing Light

View page
US Patent:
60798548, Jun 27, 2000
Filed:
Feb 13, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/023528
Inventors:
Dojin Ra - Palisades Park NJ
International Classification:
F21V 800
US Classification:
362342
Abstract:
A device is provided to diffuse a beam of light, the device consisting of a plurality of truncated cells nested together along their respective sidewalls for collecting and diffusing the light rays as they extend along the plurality of cells having an expansive, tapered interior volume. The device diffuses the main light beam in a headlamp, for example, thereby substantially reducing the glare experienced by oncoming drivers and permitting high beams of the headlamp to be used in the presence of the oncoming drivers. The device of the present invention is retrofitable to existing headlamps. In another embodiment of the present invention, a concave lens is disposed in the headlamp assembly to diffuse the main light beam prior to it entering the truncated cells, while each one of the cells of the dispersion device is also provided with its own respective concave lens to augment the diffusing effect.

Oct 9, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/727696
Inventors:
Dojin Ra - Palisades Park NJ
International Classification:
A46B 904
US Classification:
151671
Abstract:
The present invention is a toothbrush which consists of a handle constructed and arranged to receive thereto a removably mountable brushing head. The brushing head is provided with a base having a plurality of bosses which coact with the handle to removably mount the brushing head to the handle for replacement and repair. The handle is formed with an aperture extending therethrough and in registration with the brushing head. A region of the brushing head is in registration with the aperture such that the region is accessible at the aperture for being depressed to release the brushing head from the handle.
