View page
US Patent:
7997605, Aug 16, 2011
Filed:
Jun 17, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/456489
Inventors:
Floyd L. Kittrell - Jeffersonville IN, US
International Classification:
B60D 1/00
US Classification:
280400, 2804761, 2804911, 280656, 280789
Abstract:
A trailer with a pivoting and extendable tongue for use with all terrain vehicles (ATV) wherein the trailer tongue connects to a standard vehicle hitch receiver providing means for pivoting the trailer up in a raised transport or storage space saving configuration supported by the ATV or other vehicle receiver. The tongue is telescoping. The wheels are provided with heavy duty fenders which can be pivotally mounted on the wheel axles to function as sled runners. Support members extend from the axles to a selected point under the trailer frame at a selected angle in front of the wheels to function as brush guards so that the wheels are not caught in brush, hung on stumps, or deep gullies. A keeper can be removed to allow the fenders to be rotated forward and down to be used as sled runners when the ATV is towing a load in the snow. The wheels are also positioned under the trailer bed to extend pass the frame to allow the trailer to be backed over objects such as logs or gullies.

US Patent:
6390762, May 21, 2002
Filed:
May 1, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/563722
Inventors:
Walter J. Peery - Elizabethtown KY
Floyd L. Kittrell - Jeffersonville IN
Assignee:
Strategic Technologies, Inc. - Louisville KY
International Classification:
B66F 906
US Classification:
414589, 414352, 414427, 414495, 414590
Abstract:
An apparatus for supporting and accurately positioning a massive article, such as a commercial aircraft landing gear, under a second separately supported second article, such as a commercial aircraft, to facilitate attachment of the articles is disclosed. The apparatus includes a main frame having a rectangular floor assembly defined by an array of spaced apart, uniformly distributed ball transfer elements and a border formed by raised end rails and side rails. A rectangular interior frame having a length and width less than that of the floor assembly and having a flat floor plate with raised end rails and side rails thereon is movably supported on the ball transfer elements. A first pair of aligned, oppositely coacting fluid cylinders, each being connected between a different interior frame end rail and a corresponding main frame end rail, operates for selective longitudinal movement of the interior frame between main frame end rails. A second pair of aligned, oppositely coacting fluid cylinders, each being connected between a different interior frame side rail and a corresponding main frame side rail, operates for selective transverse movement of the interior frame rails between main frame side rails. The cylinder connections to each of the main frame rails is movable along that rail with parallel movement of the interior frame.
