Push Body Valve Closure

View page
US Patent:
62133519, Apr 10, 2001
Filed:
Dec 27, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/472696
Inventors:
Thomas C. Stoneberg - Buffalo Grove IL
Gary Berge - Crystal Lake IL
Assignee:
Courtesy Corporation - Buffalo Grove IL
International Classification:
B67B 500
US Classification:
22215314
Abstract:
A push body valve closure to dispense product retained in a container. The closure includes a base affixed to the mouth of the container and a cap cooperatively engaged upon the base and movable between a first closed position and a second opened position with respect to the base. The base is formed with a product dispensing channel having a wall with a generally conical-shaped cross-sectional configuration and the cap has a depending spring-action circumferential flange formed on the interior surface thereof for cooperative engagement with the conical-shaped wall. The cap is normally disposed in its closed position but is movable to the open position upon application of a force thereon to move the cap with the spring-action circumferential flange engaged against the conical-shaped wall. Upon removal of the force applied to the cap, the cap returns to its closed position by the force of the spring-action flange against the conical-shaped wall.

Universal Base Pull/Push-Twist Closure

View page
US Patent:
61353299, Oct 24, 2000
Filed:
Oct 11, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/415797
Inventors:
Thomas C. Stoneberg - Buffalo Grove IL
Gary Berge - Crystal Lake IL
Tom L. Wilcox - Antioch IL
Assignee:
Creative Packaging Corp. - Buffalo Grove IL
International Classification:
B67D 300
US Classification:
222521
Abstract:
A dispensing closure for a container, the closure including a universal base for use with either a twist operational cap or a cap which is operational on the same base by pull/push operation. The universal base includes helical grooved channels to receive drive threads formed on the inner facing surface of a twist operational cap. The helical grooved channels do not interfere with operation of a pull/push cap when such cap is employed, as an alternative to a twist cap, for use on the same universal base.

Two And Four Position Target Assembly

View page
US Patent:
48220469, Apr 18, 1989
Filed:
Feb 25, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/018480
Inventors:
Mark S. Kim - Chicago IL
Gary L. Berge - Crystal Lake IL
Assignee:
Williams Electronics - Chicago IL
International Classification:
A63F 700
US Classification:
273127R
Abstract:
The invention relates to a play feature for a pinball game able to assume a plurality of scoring positions. Various embodiments are disclosed, including two-position targets and four-position targets. The devices are actuated by a solenoid which cooperates with a cam to provide linear or rotary output to change the target position. The solenoids are actuated by a switch associated with the targets. The positions of the targets are sensed to provide different scoring values for each of the different positions.

Moving Target Assembly

US Patent:
47736461, Sep 27, 1988
Filed:
Jan 28, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/007522
Inventors:
Joseph Joos - Chicago IL
Barry Oursler - Elmwood Park IL
Gary L. Berge - Crystal Lake IL
Assignee:
Williams Electronics Games, Inc. - Chicago IL
International Classification:
A63D 302
A63B 7100
US Classification:
273121A
Abstract:
This invention relates to a play feature for a pinball game. The invention includes a plurality of targets mounted on a target carrier. The target carrier can be raised above the surface of the playfield where the targets can be hit by a ball or lowered below the playfield so that the ball will pass over the targets. Located behind this first set of targets on the playfield is a second set of targets. This second set of targets is either covered by a visor or exposed to be contacted by a ball. The visor is operatively connected to the target carrier such that downward movement of the target carrier results in upward movement of the visor. In this manner, the two target areas are alternately exposed to the player to vary the scoring opportunities.

Method Of Molding An Improved Linkage Lever

View page
US Patent:
51125510, May 12, 1992
Filed:
Sep 7, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/578419
Inventors:
Peter J. Hylak - Northbrook IL
Gary L. Berge - Crystal Lake IL
Assignee:
E & H Plastics, Inc. - Chicago IL
International Classification:
B29C 4513
US Classification:
264219
Abstract:
A method of molding a flipper link to reduce or eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break. The method includes the steps of forming a mold cavity for forming a flipper link having a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate necked-down portion. The necked-down portion provides an area between the first and second end portions which more easily twists and absorbs the stress exerted on the flipper link during use. Pins are provided in the cavity for forming an aperture in each of the first and second end portions. Plastic material is injected into the cavity at each end of the first and second end portions such that the plastic material flows into the cavity about the pins and the knit line or lines are formed in the flipper link in a location substantially centrally of the necked-down portion to thereby transfer the stress on the flipper link away from the apertures so as to substantially eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break about the apertures.
