US Patent:
6493020, Dec 10, 2002
Filed:
Jun 1, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/587379
Inventors:
George E. Stevenson - Seattle WA
Leslie Alan Leech - Kowloon, HK
James R. W. Phillips - Bellevue WA
Dave J. Rye - New City NY
Assignee:
X10 Wireless Technology, Inc. - Kent WA
International Classification:
H04N 714
US Classification:
348 1404, 348 1405, 348 1401
Abstract:
A system and method for performing videophone operations over a television. The system includes a television system, a transceiver and a personal computer that is coupled to a communications network and the transceiver. The television system includes a camera, a microphone, a wireless receiver for wirelessly receiving audio and video signals, a signal processor for processing the received audio and video signals for presentation on a television. The transceiver includes a receiver for wirelessly receiving audio and video signals from the television system, and a transmitter for wirelessly sending audio and video signals to the television system. The personal computer includes a memory and a processor for executing program instructions stored in memory for receiving audio and video data over the communications network, for receiving audio and video data from the personal computer transceiver, and for sending the audio and video data received from the personal computer transceiver to a recipient system over the communications network.

System And Method For Learning Macro Routines In A Remote Control

View page
US Patent:
6998997, Feb 14, 2006
Filed:
May 30, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/161108
Inventors:
George E. Stevenson - Seattle WA, US
Leslie Alan Leech - Kowloon, HK
James R. W. Phillips - Bellevue WA, US
David J. Rye - Kent WA, US
Assignee:
X10 Wireless Technology, Inc. - Kent WA
International Classification:
G05B 19/22
US Classification:
34082522, 341176, 34082572
Abstract:
A remote control for learning a macro routine of optical signals is provided. An optical receiver is arranged to receive optical signals from one or more original equipment remote controls. The optical receiver outputs electrical signals. A microprocessor receives the electrical signals from the optical receiver. A memory device stores the electrical signals from the optical receiver. An operator interface is electrically coupled to the microprocessor. The operator interface receives operator input to designate a macro routine of operator-selectable optical signals from the original equipment remote control. The microprocessor causes the electrical signals from the optical receiver that correspond to the operator-selectable optical signals from the original equipment remote control to be associated with the designated macro routine and stored in the memory device. Electrical signals associated with a macro designation are retrieved from the memory device and electrically coupled to an optical transmitter.

Repeating Radio Frequency Transmission System For Extending The Effective Operational Range Of An Infrared Remote Control System

View page
US Patent:
7062175, Jun 13, 2006
Filed:
Apr 19, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/839531
Inventors:
George E. Stevenson - Seattle WA, US
Leslie Alan Leech - Kowloon, HK
James R. W. Phillips - Bellevue WA, US
Assignee:
X10 Wireless Technology, Inc. - Seattle WA
International Classification:
H04B 10/00
H04B 10/02
US Classification:
398115, 398106, 398175
Abstract:
Inventive systems and methods for remotely controlling infrared controlled devices by using addressed radio frequency control signals. Radio frequency signals propagate through most obstructions to infrared control signals. Augmenting each control signal with an address allows for great selectivity in an environment with several transmitters and receivers.

Digital Image Sensor Compensation

View page
US Patent:
20020154813, Oct 24, 2002
Filed:
Apr 19, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/839530
Inventors:
George Stevenson - Seattle WA, US
Leslie Leech - Kowloon, HK
James Phillips - Bellevue WA, US
International Classification:
G06K009/00
US Classification:
382/167000
Abstract:
A system, method and computer program product for profiling a digital image sensor at production time and editing images generated by the digital image sensor according to the profile. The method exposes a digital image sensor with an array of photosites to a plurality of test cards, compares the image generated by one or more of the photosites in the array, based on the exposure to each test card, to an expected image signal result for each test card, and generates a profile of the digital image sensor based on the comparison. After the digital image sensor records an image, a processor internal or external to the digital image sensor adjusts the recorded image according to the stored profile and a compensation algorithm.
