Abstract:
A filtering media for use with edible liquids consisting of 80 percent synthetic amorphous silica, 10 percent synthetic amorphous magnesium silicate, 9 percent diatomaceous earth, and 1 percent synthetic amorphous silica-alumina. The process of rejuvenating spent cooking oil by admixing the filtering media in the spent cooking oil, maintaining the mixture at a temperature of 275. degree. F. for a period of about five minutes, and filtering the mixture to remove particulate matter including the filtering media.
