Method And System For Minimizing Overlap Nulling In Switched Beams

View page
US Patent:
20040127174, Jul 1, 2004
Filed:
Dec 30, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/335605
Inventors:
Colin Frank - Park Ridge IL, US
Yuda Luz - Buffalo Grove IL, US
Jason Chen - Hawthorn Woods IL, US
John Touvannas - Lake Zurich IL, US
Assignee:
MOTOROLA, INC.
International Classification:
H04B007/14
H04B001/02
US Classification:
455/101000, 455/025000
Abstract:
A wireless system, which minimizes nulls within the wireless system, while simultaneously providing diversity. A wireless system will now have increased capacity and coverage due to an enhanced signal to interference ratio in the areas of beam overlap. The system uses time or frequency offset on the signals input to an antenna to minimize interference in the regions of beam overlap. Additionally, polarization diversity can be introduced using Butler Matrices in conjunction with array elements to enhance the interference reduction.

Method Of A Wireless Communication Device For Managing Status Components For Global Call Control

View page
US Patent:
20110319136, Dec 29, 2011
Filed:
Jun 23, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/821969
Inventors:
Michael P. Labowicz - Palatine IL, US
Scott A. Macdonald - Chicago IL, US
Stephanie M. McNee - Chicago IL, US
Kazuhiro Ondo - Buffalo Grove IL, US
John Touvannas - San Diego CA, US
Assignee:
MOTOROLA, INC. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
H04W 88/02
US Classification:
455566
Abstract:
There is described a method of a wireless communication device for managing status components for global call control. A selectable region is displayed at a display. A first user input is then detected at an input component associated with the display corresponding to selection of the selectable region. Next, an active call status component associated with a current call is displayed at the display in response to the first user input. A second user input is detected at the input component corresponding to selection of the current call status component. Thereafter, active call information associated with an active call is displayed at the display or an active call is terminated in response to detecting the second user input.

System And Method For Subscription Based Deployment And Management Of A Communication System

View page
US Patent:
20200404461, Dec 24, 2020
Filed:
Aug 31, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/007528
Inventors:
- CHICAGO IL, US
DAVID KLEIN - PARKLAND FL, US
BLAKE C. MOSELLE - PLANTATION FL, US
JOHN TOUVANNAS - KILDEER IL, US
International Classification:
H04W 4/10
H04W 4/60
H04L 12/66
H04W 4/24
H04W 4/80
Abstract:
An ordering system () generates subscription offerings and receives an order entry in response thereto, for configuring a plurality of mobile communication devices () and gateways. A service management system () having a service management controller processes the order entry and establishes subscription services in response thereto. The subscription services are based on one or more of features, bearer providers, and capabilities associated with the plurality of mobile communication devices and gateways. The service management system () manages the selection of optimal bearer providers as the gateways for the transport of features requested in the order. A billing service () is adjusted in accordance with deployment and management of the mobile communication devices, including the transfer of mission critical functions from narrowband bearer providers to broadband bearer providers.
