US Patent:
20160095591, Apr 7, 2016
Filed:
Oct 1, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/872739
Inventors:
- MAPLE GROVE MN, US
Samuel Raybin - Marlborough MA, US
Naroun Suon - Lawrence MA, US
Tara E. DeLand - Marlborough MA, US
Justin Elfman - Cherry Hill NJ, US
Liam K. P. M. Rolle - Boston MA, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/064
A61B 17/08
A61B 17/11
A61B 17/00
Abstract:
A device and system for treating tissue includes an anchoring element at a distal end thereof for anchoring the device in a target portion of tissue and a coupling element with a magnet. The anchoring element and the coupling element are coupled to one another by a tether so that, when the anchor element is anchored in a target portion of tissue, the tether passes through the portion of tissue and the coupling element remains outside the portion of tissue. The closing device is configured to couple to a second closing device comprising a second anchoring element tethered to a second coupling element with a magnet to hold the target portion of tissue in a desired location relative to one another.

International Classification:
A61B 10/06
A61B 10/02
Abstract:
A device for collecting a tissue sample includes a needle extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough, the distal end including a pair of jaws, at least a first one of the jaws being movable relative to the other between an open configuration, in which the jaws are open to receive tissue therebetween, and a closed configuration in which the jaws are drawn toward one another to collect a tissue sample therein.

Longitudinal Needle Passer

US Patent:
20160066902, Mar 10, 2016
Filed:
Sep 1, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/842417
Inventors:
- Maple Grove MN, US
Justin ELFMAN - Cherry Hill NJ, US
Samuel RAYBIN - Marlborough MA, US
Liam K. P. M. ROLLE - Boston MA, US
Naroun SUON - Lawrence MA, US
John B. GOLDEN - Norton MA, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/04
Abstract:
A device for passing a needle and suture longitudinally through a target tissue includes a proximal jaw including a proximal recess and a proximal retention mechanism for releasably engaging a first end of a needle received within the proximal recess and a distal jaw movably coupled to the proximal jaw such that the proximal and distal jaws are longitudinally movable relative to one another. The distal jaw includes a distal recess and a distal retention mechanism for releasably engaging a second end of the needle received within the distal recess. The proximal and distal jaws are movable between a first state, in which the proximal retention mechanism is in a locked configuration and the distal retention mechanism is in an unlocked configuration, and a second state, in which the proximal retention mechanism is in an unlocked configuration and the distal retention mechanism is in a locked configuration.

US Patent:
20160030019, Feb 4, 2016
Filed:
Jul 30, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/813430
Inventors:
- Maple Grove MN, US
Kimberly Lajoie - Seattle WA, US
Tantra Budiman - Newton MA, US
Eric Wong - Framingham MA, US
Paul Smith - Smithfield RI, US
Brian Almeida - Newton MA, US
Vishal Shah - Whitehall PA, US
Justin Elfman - Cherry Hill NJ, US
Robert B. DeVries - Northborough MA, US
International Classification:
A61B 10/02
A61B 10/04
Abstract:
A device for collecting a tissue sample includes Needle and Stylet. Needle is extending longitudinally from a proximal to a distal end and includes a lumen extending therethrough. Stylet is movably housed in the lumen and extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal to a distal end and includes a scooper at the distal end thereof. The scooper is connected to a proximal portion of Stylet via a hinge biased toward a bent position in which the scooper is bent away from the longitudinal axis. Stylet is movable between a constrained configuration and a tissue-collecting configuration. The scooper includes a channel extending longitudinally therethrough and a window extending laterally through a wall thereof in communication with the channel to collect a tissue sample therethrough as Stylet is moved from the tissue-collecting to the constrained.
