Apparatus For Controlling Spray Pattern

View page
US Patent:
44113862, Oct 25, 1983
Filed:
Dec 28, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/334556
Inventors:
Lynnford E. Disbrow - Kennewick WA
International Classification:
B05B 300
US Classification:
239177R
Abstract:
In a center pivot irrigation system, an apparatus for controlling the spray pattern delivered by an end gun having at least one adjustable stop by varying end gun travel along an end gun delivery path. A sensing means detects changes in wind condition and produces a signal corresponding thereto. The signal thus produced operates an end gun controlling means which is adapted to adjust the end gun stop and vary the path of end gun travel. By this means, end gun spray pattern is maintained as a function of current wind condition.

Method For Analyzing Seasonal Growing Conditions Of Crops

View page
US Patent:
42272114, Oct 7, 1980
Filed:
Sep 22, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/944702
Inventors:
Lynnford E. Disbrow - Kennewick WA
Assignee:
Columbia Photografix, Inc. - Pasco WA
International Classification:
H06N 518
US Classification:
358113
Abstract:
This method uses electronic measurement of color values in aerial infrared photographic transparencies to analyze the growing condition of a crop. A series of infrared photographs are taken during the growing season, and average color values from the resulting image are plotted and compared to optimum growing conditions. Electronic measurements are made of color densities about the total field area as represented on each photographic image. Each measurement is corrected to eliminate exposure variations in the images due to photographic factors, weather factors, lighting and film conditions, and the date and time at which the photograph was taken.

Color Standard Method And Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
43658822, Dec 28, 1982
Filed:
Jun 29, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/278644
Inventors:
Lynnford E. Disbrow - Kennewick WA
International Classification:
G03B 1724
G03B 2776
US Classification:
354106
Abstract:
A method for providing a reference color standard for analysis of exposed color film frames in which adjacent areas of film are exposed by subjecting them to a preselected color pattern by transmission of a repeatable light value from a known light source. All exposed areas of the film are developed identically to the adjacent film frames. Light and color comparisons can be made between the exposed film frames and their adjacent exposed color standard areas. The apparatus includes a repeatable light source, such as an electronic flash unit; a changeable filter pack; and light transport means for directing the light from the source, through the filter pack and to the film surfaces adjacent to an exposed film frame. The color standard area is exposed simultaneously with each film frame for later color comparison usage.
