View page
US Patent:
8523194, Sep 3, 2013
Filed:
Apr 14, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/760370
Inventors:
Marie Smirman - Rochester Hills MI, US
International Classification:
A63C 1/30
A61F 5/14
A43B 19/00
A43B 23/08
US Classification:
280 1118, 36144, 36143, 36142, 36 71, 36115, 36 77 R
Abstract:
A forefoot wedge insert, and methods for forming same, are described for a piece of footwear, such as but not limited to ice skating boots, or a shoe, such as but not limited to exercise, therapeutic, or physiological footwear, for correcting a pronation and/or supination condition wherein the insert permits the subtalar joint of the affected foot to be placed and/or maintained in a neutral position. In this manner, the insert can provide the corrected foot with adequate balance relative to the skate blade during typical ice skating maneuvers. Also described is a skating boot, or shoe, having an adjustable toe cap portion that is selectively operable to be raised up to accommodate the uplifted forefoot portion of the wearer when the forefoot wedge insert is being used.

Insert For Rockered Foot Bed Of Footwear

View page
US Patent:
20100263230, Oct 21, 2010
Filed:
Apr 14, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/760306
Inventors:
MARIE SMIRMAN - ROCHESTER HILLS MI, US
International Classification:
A43B 13/38
A43D 11/00
US Classification:
36 43, 12146 R
Abstract:
A molded insert, and methods for forming same, for a rockered foot bed of a boot, such as, but not limited to ice skating boots, or a rockered foot bed of a shoe, such as, but not limited to exercise, therapeutic, or physiological footwear, is described. The molded insert can be formed of any moldable material that is substantially firm when cured or dried. The moldable material can be used to fill in the concave portion of the rockered foot bed to form a substantially flat or level surface for the bottom of the wearer's foot, especially in the area corresponding from the beginning of the heel portion of the foot to the beginning of the ball of the foot (e.g., the mid-foot), thus providing adequate support for the foot's arch during typical ice skating maneuvers.

Moldable Arch Support For Footwear

US Patent:
20100263232, Oct 21, 2010
Filed:
Apr 15, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/760652
Inventors:
MARIE SMIRMAN - Rochester Hills MI, US
International Classification:
A43B 13/38
A43B 7/14
US Classification:
36 43, 12146 M, 36145
Abstract:
A molded insert, and methods for forming same, for an arch cavity of a boot, such as, but not limited to ice skating boots, or an arch cavity of a shoe, such as, but not limited to exercise, therapeutic, or physiological footwear, is described. The molded insert can be formed of any moldable material that is substantially firm, yet comfortable, when cured or dried. The moldable material can be used to fill in the arch cavity to form a substantially firm, yet comfortable, surface to support the arch of the wearer's foot, especially in the area corresponding from the beginning of the heel portion of the foot to the beginning of the ball of the foot (e.g., the mid-foot) and includes a vertically extending side portion along the side of the foot's arch, thus providing adequate support for the foot's arch during typical ice skating maneuvers.

Filed:
Sep 5, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/478422
Inventors:
MARIE SMIRMAN - ROCHESTER HILLS MI, US
International Classification:
A63C 1/28
