View page
US Patent:
7037437, May 2, 2006
Filed:
Sep 30, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/163006
Inventors:
Matthew P. Sawhill - Des Moines IA, US
Daniel W. Pfeffer - West Des Moines IA, US
Assignee:
Townsend Engineering Company - Des Moines IA
International Classification:
B01D 33/073
B01D 33/11
B01D 37/00
US Classification:
210784, 210262, 210391, 210396, 210402, 210403, 210255, 99532
Abstract:
A filtering system used on a meat injection machine that injects pickling into meat products. The filter consists of a tank and a first and second rotary filter. The first rotary filter uses a wedge wire wound cylinder and augers having flutes that rotate to catch and push away solid particles toward the second filter. The second filter then uses more wedge wire in a whirlpool effect to ensure all solid materials and foam are in the outside of the filter. Injector fluid is then taken from the center of the inside volume of the second filter to be used in injection needles.

US Patent:
7094141, Aug 22, 2006
Filed:
Aug 21, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/225389
Inventors:
Matthew P Sawhill - Des Moines IA, US
Kenneth L Lebsack - Ankeny IA, US
Assignee:
Stork Townsend Inc. - Des Moines IA
International Classification:
A22C 11/02
US Classification:
452 34, 452 32
Abstract:
A casing hopper for sausage encasing machines includes a hopper having a downwardly sloping bottom terminating in a downwardly extending fence wall. A chute wall is substantially vertically disposed in parallel spaced condition to the fence wall to form a substantially vertical casing passageway with respect to the fence wall. The chute wall terminates in an inclined flange that extends upwardly and inwardly below the passageway to form a cradle portion to receive a single hollow casing from the passageway. The passageway is of sufficient width to receive a plurality of longitudinally vertically stacked elongated hollow casings.

Abstract:
A skinning machine having a skinning blade mounted between a clamp and a shoe. The shoe has a bore that extends therethrough and a cam arm mounted to a bottom surface. The clamp has a recess with an aperture disposed therethrough. A pin extends through the aperture of the clamp and the bore of the shoe and is retained by the clamp arm.

Shoe Tensioning Linkage For Meat Skinner

View page
US Patent:
7198563, Apr 3, 2007
Filed:
Jul 7, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/160751
Inventors:
Matthew A. Bergman - Des Moines IA, US
Kenneth L. Lebsack - Ankeny IA, US
James L. Myers - Urbandale IA, US
Matthew P. Sawhill - Des Moines IA, US
Brent M. Veldkamp - Cumming IA, US
Assignee:
Stork Townsend Inc. - Des Moines IA
International Classification:
A22B 5/16
US Classification:
452129
Abstract:
A skinning machine includes a frame, a linkage assembly mounted to the frame, and a skinning assembly mounted to the linkage assembly via lift arms. The linkage assembly raises and lowers the skinning assembly via the lift arms from an open to a closed position, wherein the linkage assembly is located on one side of the skinning assembly. A spring cartridge is operatively associated with the lift arms via an intermediate link to equally apply bias force from the spring cartridge to the independently rotatable lift arms. The linkage assembly includes a cam slot provided through a cam arm to slidably receive a pin therein. The cam slot is shaped to lock the pin when the linkage assembly is in the closed position. A cam block is mounted to the frame and includes a cam notch adapted to slidably secure the end of the pin in a locked open position.
