Abstract:
A slotted drain having a first channeled half having a first engaging structure and a second channeled half having a second engaging structure mating within the first engaging structure is disclosed. The first channeled half can define a cantilever snap-fit recess and the second channeled half can comprise a cantilever snap-fit protrusion. A slot is formed when the first and second channeled halves are joined. The slot is adapted to receive a liquid variant and the slotted drain is adapted to receive the liquid from the slot into the first and second channeled halves. The slotted drain may optionally include a concrete pass-through port, a rebar clip, bedding feet and/or securement ribs. A method of assembling a slotted drain is also disclosed.

Filed:
Jun 5, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/133601
Inventors:
Michael A. Funari - Apex NC, US
Robert E. Saadi - Erie PA, US
Jeffrey T. Phillips - Sanford NC, US
Joseph J. Ballachino - Pittsboro NC, US
Assignee:
Zurn Industries, LLC - Erie PA
International Classification:
E03D 11/00
E03D 11/03
F16K 31/44
F16K 31/12
US Classification:
4249, 251 40, 251 44, 251244, 251229, 251339
Abstract:
A flush actuator assembly for use with a flush valve having a relief post is disclosed. The flush actuator assembly includes a valve actuator having a first end, a second end, and an aperture extending therebetween. The aperture is adapted to surround at least a portion of the relief valve post. Movement of the valve actuator in a first direction engages the relief valve post at a first location on the post and displaces the relief valve post by a first separation distance. Movement of the valve actuator in a second direction engages the relief valve post at a second location on the post and displaces the relief valve post by a second separation distance. The first separation distance and the second separation distance are different.

Diaphragm Assembly

US Patent:
52716007, Dec 21, 1993
Filed:
May 14, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/062829
Inventors:
Robert E. Saadi - Erie PA
Christopher C. Knoll - Fairview PA
John Beaumont - Harborcreek PA
John D. Ralston - Erie PA
Robert E. Farrell - Erie PA
Assignee:
Zurn Industries, Inc. - Erie PA
International Classification:
F16K 31385
US Classification:
251 40
Abstract:
A unitary diaphragm assembly for use in conventional flush valves. The diaphragm assembly has a flexible diaphragm which includes a seating portion and a mounting portion at the outer peripheral edge. A flow ring is positioned adjacent to the seating portion of the diaphragm. An elongated barrel member extends from the diaphragm in a longitudinal direction and includes a plurality of radial guides positioned circumferentially around the outer surface of the barrel member along a portion of the length of the barrel member. A second embodiment has a flexible diaphragm connected to a cylinder slide. The cylinder slide includes a longitudinal barrel member with a relief valve positioned in the interior of the lower portion of the barrel member.

On Demand Sensor Flush Valve

View page
US Patent:
50624539, Nov 5, 1991
Filed:
Mar 6, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/665344
Inventors:
Robert E. Saadi - Erie PA
Allen R. Becker - Erie PA
Christopher J. Ball - Erie PA
John Steffan - Erie PA
Assignee:
Zurn Industries, Inc. - Erie PA
International Classification:
E03D 308
F16K 3100
US Classification:
13762411
Abstract:
An on demand, non-contact sensor controlled flush valve actuation system includes a flush valve between a water supply and a plumbing fixture. An actuator for the flush valve includes a moveable piston in fluid communication with a control water inlet, with a control water conduit carrying water from the flush valve through a solenoid operated control valve to the actuator assembly. A radiation sensing/detecting unit generates a first control signal in response to the return reflection of infrared radiation. A timer receives the first control signal and, in response thereto, generates a second control signal of a predetermined duration which activates the solenoid. When the solenoid is activated, a portion of the pressurized supply water flows into the actuator assembly and against a piston therein, with the piston moving to operate a trip mechanism for the flush valve.
