TRAINING AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER: Supervising two direct staff, designing and presenting hands-on classes (mouse, rat and aseptic techniques), updating and presenting a minimum of three lectures monthly, ensuring animal use application personnel pre-reviews performed accurately, maintaining institutional compliance as per assurance welfare, design and maintenance of two websites, scheduling quarterly and semi-annual inspections, updating IACUC SOP monthly for review and approval. VETERINARY MEDICINE: Surgical preparation and assistance, IV catheter placement, post-surgical care, dental cleanings, X-rays (dental and full body), routine laboratory skills (urine analysis, cytology (ear, blood and fecal), heartworm screening, IDEXX analysis, skin scraping analysis), client education, routine veterinary assistance. MOLECULAR BIOLOGY: RNA Isolation, cDNA microarray, PCR and RT-PCR, ribonuclease protection assay (RPA), primer design, cloning and sub-cloning, DNA plasmid purification (mini-, midi- and maxi-preps), ligations, restriction digests, agarose electrophoresis, Southern blot, protein isolation, western blot, immunoprecipitation, transformations (heat shock and electroporation), single colony screening and selection, cell line maintenance, primary cell preparation, transfections (eg: lipofection, FuGENE 6 and calcium phosphate), viral transduction. COMPUTER EXPERIENCE: CarolinaContent, Contribiute, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; Origin, DVM Manager, IntraVet, MacVector, AssemblyAlign, MacDraw, Photoshop and Claris Draw; Dreamweaver.
