Apparatus, System, And Method Of Electrically Coupling Photovoltaic Modules

View page
US Patent:
20040147172, Jul 29, 2004
Filed:
Jul 7, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/612873
Inventors:
Jacob Brown - Corona del Mar CA, US
Teodor Galitev - Fountain Valley CA, US
Keith Volz - Jamestown NC, US
International Classification:
H01R013/502
US Classification:
439/701000
Abstract:
A system and method of electrically connecting direct current components of photovoltaic system that is mounted on a structure, which includes an alternating current electrical system. The direct current components of the photovoltaic system include a photovoltaic module that has a frame, a photovoltaic module positive node, and a photovoltaic module negative node. The method includes coupling a plug connector to the photovoltaic module, which includes electrically coupling a first wire to the photovoltaic module positive node, electrically coupling a second wire to the photovoltaic module negative node, and electrically coupling a ground wire to the frame of the photovoltaic module.

Apparatus, System, And Method Of Diagnosing Individual Photovoltaic Cells

US Patent:
20040211456, Oct 28, 2004
Filed:
Jul 7, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/612891
Inventors:
Jacob Brown - Corona del Mar CA, US
Teodor Galitev - Fountain Valley CA, US
Glen Long - Bloxon VA, US
International Classification:
H01L025/00
F16M011/00
US Classification:
136/243000, 248/163100
Abstract:
An apparatus, system and method of evaluating performance of a photovoltaic array that includes a plurality of photovoltaic elements. The function of each of the photovoltaic elements is to convert solar energy to electricity. The method includes diagnosing independently the functioning of individual photovoltaic elements, and identifying under-performing individual photovoltaic elements within the photovoltaic array. The diagnosing includes a separate diagnostic circuit for each of the individual photovoltaic elements, and the identifying includes analyzing contemporary and historical measurements of the individual photovoltaic elements.

Roofing Installation System

US Patent:
20130239495, Sep 19, 2013
Filed:
Mar 14, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/420484
Inventors:
Frank Pao - Boston MA, US
Teodor Galitev - Fountain Valley CA, US
International Classification:
E04D 13/18
E04B 7/00
E04B 1/64
US Classification:
521733, 523023, 5274506
Abstract:
The roofing installation system comprises a plurality of metal battens mounted horizontally onto a plurality of parallel wooden battens, which are mounted vertically over a slope roof. A plurality of link channel brackets having a hook is fastened vertically between a pair of the plurality of metal battens using a latch. A plurality of slate modules is mounted on the plurality of metal battens. Each slate module slides through the plurality of link channel brackets till a bottom portion of the slate module fits into the plurality of hooks. A central grooved portion on the link channel bracket, may act as a drainage channel for the water falling on the slate modules.

Apparatus, System, And Method Of Mechanically Coupling Photovoltaic Modules

View page
US Patent:
20040140002, Jul 22, 2004
Filed:
Jul 7, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/612890
Inventors:
Jacob Brown - Corona del Mar CA, US
Teodor Galitev - Fountain Valley CA, US
International Classification:
H01L025/00
US Classification:
136/251000
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method of mounting a photovoltaic module on a structure. The system includes a first element that is mounted on a structure and a first clamp that engages the first element and that secures the photovoltaic module with respect to the structure. The first clamp includes a body that is adapted to be positioned with respect to the photovoltaic module, and a jaw that pivots about a pivot axis between first and second configurations relative to the body. The first configuration permits non-coaxial displacement with respect to the pivot axis by the first clamp relative to the first element, and the second configuration generally prevents non-coaxial displacement with respect to the pivot axis by the first clamp relative to the first element. The jaw includes a handling end that is operated from above the photovoltaic module, and an operating end that cooperates with the first element.
